      Welcome to District 2 - the West Central District!

      Our District is the big sailing mixing pot, because we are so diverse. Our clubs sail on everything from small 100 acre ponds, to the huge Gulf of Mexico. Our regattas can be hot such as the 2000 Nationals in Oklahoma with big wind or cold and majestic as the 2007 Nationals in Dillon Colorado.

      This year (2013) we host the North American Championships at the Lakewood Yacht Club Seabrook, Texas. The Yacht Club is on Galveston Bay, southeast of Houston, Texas.

      Next year (2014) we will host the Nationals in Lake Okoboji in Northwest Iowa. For those of you that don’t know Okoboji, it is a jewel. It has deep clear water, good winds, and great hospitality. The two story club house overlooks a large lawn with a hoist, boat ramp and docks.
