The 2010 SCIRA USA Womens National Championship Regatta will be held at the Florida Yacht Club in Jacksonville, FL on April 10 and 11.
This event will also be the Qualifier for the North American Womens Representative to the 2010 Western Hemisphere & Orient Championships to be held in Canada this coming August. Accordingly, the event will be open to womens teams from the North American Snipe Nations (Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Mexico). These participants will be eligible to win a regatta award based on their finishing place, as well as qualify for the WH&O slot, but will not be eligible to be awarded any perpetual trophy associated with the event.
This is a great place to sail in the spring, the facilities are great and Hal Gilreath always puts on an outstanding event. Charters for participants will be available. Note that the weekend after this event is the St Johns Tea Party Regatta at the club, so bring your boat down lend it out to the women and then sail the next weekend in a very competitive fleet. This is part of a long Snipe migration starting with the Winter Circuit, moving up to the Womens event, the Tea party, an event in Charlotte in mid May, then ther Colonial in Annapolis and then the Surf City Pork Loin regatta in Surf City NJ
